ASK THE ROCCA SISTERS: “WHAT’S GREAT ABOUT BURLINGTON?”

As proud Burlingtonians, we’re so happy to answer this question! Both Cathy and Tanya live in Burlington, and they absolutely love it. We also have a second home here at our downtown Burlington office which everyone is invited to come visit us at! Here’s why we love Burlington:

So Much to Do!

Burlington has developed from a quiet bedroom community to a savvy, revitalized waterfront city. Strategically located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Burlington offers a quality of life that is second to none with great schools, shopping, dining, recreational facilities, parkland, festivals and nightlife all available within the city. The lake is accessible to all with Spencer Smith Park being the main access point. Some of the city’s attractions include Canada’s Largest Ribfest, the world-renowned Sound of Music Festival, the Burlington Performing Arts Centre, the Burlington Art Centre, and Spencer Smith Park, all located near in the downtown core. Additionally, the city attracts hikers, birders and nature lovers to the stunning Royal Botanical Gardens located on the border with Hamilton. The Gardens are in close proximity to a part of the Niagara Escarpment in the north end of the city and includes the Iroquoian section of the Bruce Trail. Other fantastic events to enjoy in Burlington each year include Art in the Park, Lakeside Festival of Lights, and the Burlington Jazz’n Blues Festival.

Green and Clean

Burlington is proud of its green city heritage with more than 1,436 acres of parkland. If swimming, skating or golfing is your thing, you’ll be happy to know that Burlington offers four indoor and three outdoor pools, nine splash pads, 12 ice pads, six community centres, and eleven local golf courses. Some of the best hiking in the world awaits you not only on the Bruce Trail but also on the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO-designated World Biosphere Reserve. The Waterfront Trail – part of the Niagara-on-the-Lake to Québec border trail – skirts the shores of Lake Ontario and Burlington Bay/Hamilton Harbour. The cream-coloured sandy beaches and tepid waters at Beachway Park make hot summer days a welcome event.

Modern and Convenient

Burlington is recognized as a progressive Great Lake City located along the Niagara Escarpment and offers a full-service hospital that has just undergone a massive redevelopment and expansion, quality schools, safe neighbourhoods and an all-around outstanding quality of life for its residents. Burlington is in the centre of the Golden Horseshoe with easy access to all major centres – just half an hour to Pearson International Airport and downtown Toronto and minutes to Hamilton and Oakville. Burlington has three Go Transit stations and a well-developed local transit system that will get you where you need to go.
